Where Lending Locations is playful and leisure-focused, Resource Bank is serious and leans towards addressing need and inequality. The thing distributed can be services or knowledge as well as physical goods, and might emphasise reuse e.g. of baby clothes (invoking 16 Circular Economy) rather than perishables. Because distribution is labour-intensive, it offers opportunities for participation. It also involves person-to-person contact that breaks down barriers between members of a community who might otherwise not interact.

It embodies radical generosity and collective resourcing. It may combine with 09 Interactive Street Object, in offering a degree of playfulness or delightful interaction patterns.

15 Workshop
Workshop offers access to shared making or mending facilities. There may be guidance and a roster of projects to work on together. Because the facilities are potentially hazardous and valuable, there will normally be some kind of 'bright line' membership, involving rituals of training and induction. This pattern embodies the principle of accompaniment and collective resourcing.
16 Circular Economy
This pattern focuses on the community-building aspect of circular economy initiatives that may have the primary goal of reducing waste. Where community is also an outcome, it could be because the project brings together people with similar values, focuses them on local resources or needs, or creates a magic circle effect.
